With a welcoming atmosphere and a dedicated team led by passionate cooks, Xing Yun promises not just a meal, but an unforgettable dining experience.
What sets Xing Yun apart is its unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity. Diners rave about the fresh ingredients and high standards, leading to glowing reviews across the board. Chris Hostland aptly describes it as the “best Chinese food in the city,” emphasizing the impressive portion sizes and the impeccable service. Such sentiments reflect the restaurant's dedication to satisfying large groups and families without compromising on flavor.
One of the standout features of Xing Yun is its authentic Cantonese cooking, showcasing the distinct “wok hey” flavor that has patrons coming back for more. The burning char from the hot wok elevates every dish, encapsulating the essence of traditional Chinese cooking. K Lam’s enthusiastic endorsement highlights this, praising the genuine flavors that can often be elusive in many eateries today.
For those seeking recommendations, it’s hard to go wrong. A favorite among regulars is the noodle dish, suggested by the amiable owner, which promises a smokey, delectable experience. With every bite, you can almost hear the symphony of woks clanging in the kitchen, a testament to the bustling energy and care that goes into every meal.
Barry McConnell notes the restaurant’s quick service without skimping on quality, while Lee J Callow draws attention to their house-made offerings, including dim sum. The pork belly comes highly recommended, with many declaring it a must-try. This attention to detail and freshness means that every dish at Xing Yun is crafted with care, delivering a dining experience that’s hard to replicate.

“ Best Chinese food in the city. The food is fresh, high quality. The service is impeccable, too! Our large group ordered dinner for 6, and two additional dishes, and the portions are massive! Definitely coming back! ”
“ Authentic Cantonese cooking, had good 'wok-hey' ”
“ The nice lady, probably the owner, suggested the noodle dish. Hot wok hey, smokey deliciousness is all I can say. The reviews are high for a reason. If your feeling authentic Chinese, go out of your way for this place you won't regret it. Should be added to fav list. I'll definitely be back. ”
“ The best Chinese food in Kelowna great quick service. You can hear the woks clanging in the Kitchen. The food is so hot and fresh. We haven't had the dimsum yet but looks great. Good job ”
“ Best authentic Chinese food in the Interior that matches anything in the Lower Mainland. Everything is great, you can’t go wrong. Everything is made in house including the dim sum. You have to try the pork belly! We look forward to going every week. Highly recommend!! ”
“ Seriously some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! Everything was super fresh and flavourful. The chilli oil wontons were amazing - even saved the chilli oil for the rest of the dishes because it was THAT good. The siu mai were huge and the egg tarts were buttery, flakey perfection. The ginger beef stole the show and was such a unique West Coast experience. Coming from the GTA, I was extremely impressed by the quality of food and service here and would say it tops anything I’ve experienced in Toronto. The lovely young man who served us was so welcoming and helpful with recommending their best dishes. Will definitely be returning on my next trip to Kelowna! ”
“ We ordered take out from Xing Yun got our New Year's eve dinner. We decided to try somewhere new and are we happy we did! The food was phenomenal! Fresh, not greasy, and tons of flavor! The spicy bites of real ginger in the ginger beef were awesome. The food was ready quickly, despite how busy they were for NYE. Our bill was 70tip and we had lots of food and leftovers for the next day. ”
“ Excellent Cantonese cuisine opposite Kelowna airport. No greasy sitting food here - everything is FRESHLY MADE. Portions sizes are great. Price is average. Restaurant is spotless. Authentic taste. The chicken balls dough was thick but so fresh and tasty, we are taking them home to roll in powdered sugar to make chicken ball donuts. We ordered the Dinner for 4, and popular dim sum dishes: sui mai, bbq pork bun, and har gow. The dim sum is tasty, fresh, and most important - hand made authentic. We will definitely be returning. Recommend the sui mai. ”
